Hi all,

I've been searching the forum for any kind of info on this, but haven't been able to find any. I know Toyota placed special, anti tuning security on the ECU, however, Agency Power claims they cracked through it.

They're currently offering a special OBDII port automatic tuner.

Has anyone ever used anything like this? Does anyone have any info/experience with this?

To me it feels a bit hard to believe and kinda screams "scam". The no return policy also raises some red flags too.

What are your thoughts on this?

Exactly. It isn't like you could easily copy the device's settings. I am friends with folks that tune the Yaris all over the world and they still haven't mentioned a real tuning solution other than a piggyback with a harness to perform intercepts, etc. I would steer clear unless you have cash to burn.

Totally agree on that. Until there's some proper independent dyno testing done that proves this does what they claim it does, I woudn't put any money on it.

Just for laughts I, talked to one of the guys who apperently flashed his FR-S and says it increased the redline setting from 7400 to 8000. The say they haven't dyno-ed a Yaris yet, but they have plans to do that soon.

If you want to know for sure, get a bunch of people to chip in on one and ship it to me and I will tell you exactly what it does or doesn't do.

An increased redline does nothing for you NA. Plus 700 bucks! Hell with that.

It's probably not good for us forced induction users...
I'll pass.

I admit, curiosity is starting to get the better of me...

CTScott, if you are willing to donate some of your free time in disecting this thing, and there are a few people that would want to do it, then in the interest of R&D i woudn't mind pitching in to get one of these units for study purposes.

Maybe there is something to it. It seems a bit wierd that a slightly reputable company like this (they used to supply Garm with brake lines as i recall) would ruin their reputation with scams of this nature.

If the price drops to 500, I'll pick one up.

Exactly. What I would do is sniff the CAN bus communication between it and the ECM to see if it really is reprogramming memory addresses. I have reprogrammed 2007 ECMs with the firmware update that Toyota released to fix an issue, so I am very familiar with the protocol to do so.
