Hello everyone I am new here to forum :). Currently I own a 1995 1.0 micra, however I am thinking of replacing the Micra with a Vitz/Yaris. In Malta, we have both the toyota agent with new yaris cars and various autodealers who bring in second hand Vitz from Japan.

Now the thing in Malta is we many times experience heavy traffic to get from one place to another. Also, being a small island, distance here is not a problem. The maximum time to get from one place to another with normal traffic is about 30-40 minutes.

The Toyota agent in malta offers the 1.33 Yaris 6 speed or automatic Sports version only. When I went there with my friend on an open day, the Toyota argued that a 1.0 yaris is not worth it due to the extra effort for the pulling.

On the other hand, the various auto dealers in Malta sell both 1.0 and 1.3 litre engines, both manual and automatic, ranging from years of 2007 till 2012 models.

From the information above, I am thinking of buying the 1.3 lt Vitz but some argue that it is not worth it because of the traffic. Also many here recommend the automatic for the same reason.

Edit: By the way, the national speed limit in Malta is 80Km/h

Can you please offer some guide in what to purchase? any advices are greatly welcomed :)

[QUOTE=yarissoho90d;765105]are you joking, you cant go to 120 130 kmh??. Dont buy petrol yaris, just buy the yaris90d..i have it and in city 4,5-5 litres and in road 3,5-4,5 litres consumption and this motor with 90bhp believe me that runs a lot and works great. I have been in malta in summer, your island is nice

Don't buy the 1.0...it's no good if you have 5 persons in the car and are thinking of overtaking another car.

I now, because i've had a 1.0L 3cyl.
