The Prius C is pretty much the U.S. version of the Yaris Hybrid, so I doubt it will come to the USA.

Wonder why? Maybe DOT regs or something? We Americans love to see hp numbers like that car is boasting. Should put into production. I'd definitely run down to dealer and order one up pronto. Just a nasty looking vehicle! Talking about Toyota Yaris Hybrid R concept.

WIth gas prices as low as they are and with the outlook for future prices, Im thinking Big T will think very carefully before importing any more hybrids....

Gas prices are irrelevant in my opinion. They keep fuel prices down so we can afford to go and buy groceries and everything else at inflated costs. And every other expense or bill here in the U.S. continues to rise.

Was looking at apartment rents in Circle MT on Clist. $375 a month! I figger my house costs ~$1200 a month and I own it!

MT good for the budget.

I'll bet most of that is the property tax bill. My next door neighbors raised their kids in Clifton, NJ with 5 years in Houston smack dab in the middle. All of the kids finished school in New Jersey. Afterward, both boys and one girl came back to Houston. Only one daughter stayed in New Jersey. When they retired, they came back to Houston for the kids and grand kids, but also largely for the value...a large driver of that being the outrageous property taxes they were paying on their house in Clifton.

I was getting gas at the Safeway in Helena, MT on a Summer afternoon last year. An old man drove onto the grounds of the station in a fairly large ATV with no roll cage. He was smoking a cigar and also drinking a clear cup of beer. He started chatting with the cashier. They obviously knew each other. A cop drove through and clearly saw this guy, but was unfazed. The cop didn't stop and question the man...he just left...cracked me up. Helena has a great vibe during the Summer. I have a friend who lived a bit farther north in Great Falls for over 20 years. He'd usually drive back to the SF bay Area for Christmas. He told me it was so cold that he'd have to do a block (somewhere near the radiator) to keep the engine warm enough for driving south from Great Falls. He said the temps could hit 50 below (F) with the wind chill. Even given the beauty, I don't think I'd want to spend a winter in Montana.

Yeah rents coming down out here in oilfield environment. Boom is all but fizzled away. Once winter rolls back around then one would pay more than 375 a month in utilities on average. Gets in the sub zero (ie -30 ambient temperature, -50+ windchill range) and can stay that way for a month straight. Sometimes even longer during winter months. Work in oilfield is harder to come by out here and they are not paying as well as when boom was full speed ahead.

Property taxes on my house I paid $100,000 for in 92 ~$7000 year. Probably paid more in taxes to live in the house for 23 years that I did to buy it!

Rode my motorcycle along Route 200 across MT east to west in 2000 and when I drove to AK in 2011 followed that road a long ways also. Beautiful just beautiful!

Your percentage rate must be insane for a developed area (without Mello Roos or a MUD I imagine). IIRC, my neighbor's overall yearly property tax in Clifton was a bit over 15k....an insane amount they felt in retirement (the Mrs. had been a SAHM).

Yes, just beautiful. I traveled there in 1999 with my friend who had lived there. Entered Montana from Yellowstone Park and stayed in Livingston. Then to Butte and to Helena, then to Great Falls for about a week (stayed with friends of his) an then to St. Mary's and over the Going to the Sun Highway through Glacier National Park to Kalispel for a few days (?), then south to Polson along Flathead Lake and then to Lolo (just south of Missoula) and on to Idaho (Coeur d'Alene).

Last year I drove from Cheyenne, WY to Helena with a stop in Billings. Helena for a few nights, then less in Missoula before going on toward Spirit Lake, Idaho.

Yes its pretty in parts up here in mt but we're getting away from the original post about the hybrid r. Anyone know anything about if this concept car will turn into a reality?
