I've been googling all around and I've found nothing, I really want to buy a Yaris 07/08 and I don't know if it has a Cigarette Lighter Port.

Thanks!

It might be a country specific thing. The U.S. version of the Yaris (2007 and beyond) has always had a cigarette lighter (I don't smoke, but sometimes charge electronics or run my portable air compressor). In other countries, I've seen that countriy's version of a car also sold in the U.S. (but never a Yaris) where the U.S. version included a cigarette lighter and the other country's version didn't. Don't know about the 2nd Gen Yaris configurations that were sold in Central America.

My 2007 Yaris HB sold here in Canada does NOT have a cigarette outlet. It is only a charging outlet.

My 2009 hatch has a power outlet which kind looks like cigarette lighter but isn't.

What do you want it to do?

Our '06 Vitz has power outlet also right beneath the climate control panel assy. Yaris models I suppose has it too especially '07s and onwards. Although it doesn't include any cig lighter.

There's a 12V charging port for powering small electronic gadgets like a GPS or charging a phone. But it's way too low to use it as a cigarette lighter even if amperage was high enough and you were to find the proper lighter for it. It's also not illuminated so putting the lighter back, if you had one, would be a hazardous guessing game, too.

It sounds as though we are looking at this the same way. To some of the responders up thread....Isn't a fully functioning cigarette lighter just the normal circular/round power receptacle (female) fiited to the lighter element (male) ?....Or does the female part have to be different, with higher gauge wiring if the receptacle is to be used to heat the lighter heating element in addition to powering devices ?

Ahhh, I see. Your post wasn't up yet when I started composing my previous post.

You are right. That outlet is only for powering accessories otherwise the manufacturer would have included it.
These usually have a coverings like a cap and are usually labeled as being 12v power since they would not be able to withstand the heat produced by an electric cigarette lighter.
I guess cars like these are telling their buyers to quit smoking.

Thanks everyone! I got the 2007 Hatchback 4 doors Yaris and I love it! It's Japanese and it has the port I was talking about, I use it for charging my phone and for other stuff too, ha!

PS: What's the best upgrade I can get to this car sound wise without altering the structure of the car? (modified, cutting parts, etc) I want good sound with good bass, doesn't need to be extremely loud but decent enough for me to enjoy the music without noise or something weird, I should probably just start a new thread.

Love you all.
