Passenger capacity

I carpool with 4 grown adults 4 days/month for 110kms return.(Mostly flat)

I'm rolling in a 2007 5 door hatch with stock 14 inch steelies and stock suspension.

By my estimates that's 750lbs of people weight. Think that this will be pretty tough on the car considering capacity is spec'd at 850lbs?

The passenger capacity of a 2007 Yaris is two people, regardless what the manual says. Two people and a ten year old, if you want to be generous. There's no way you can fit a driver and four more people in there with some semblance of comfort, and the added weight will make the car unbearable to drive. I would hitchhike before I share a ride in a Yaris with four other people.

Hahah a total of 4 people. I'm not saying its gonna be comfy. but am I going to wear things out prematurely?

Even so. What little power it has and what little room, adding three people and probably some luggage to it is gonna make it handle dangerously and it can barely get out if its own way with just a driver and a passenger. And even it's just me and nobody and nothing else, after a couple of hours I'm just sore a.f. You'll never find out if there'll be premature wear because after one trip, nobody will want to ride with you ever again ;)

Expect the same performance as a bus. Your suspension's longevity will depend on the quality of the roads. I have an AT and it's definitely slower fully packed

I've never had issues with mine. Obviously it will be slower, especially with AC on on an uphill...

There are plenty legroom and headroom in the back to sit comfortably. Unless you are freaking Yao Ming...

I'm not a mechanic by any stretch, so won't comment on premature wear, but I can say that I've had 4 full size dudes in my car on multiple occasions and although I felt the weight, it didn't feel dangerous and everyone was comfortable.

I have a 2003 Echo and carpooled once a month for 4 days straight, 100kms round trip per day. It was me plus 3 other fully grown adult males.

While the car was not at its fittest performance wise, it still ran quite well, kept up to traffic, and I've noted no drastic issues concerning wear. It was not as dreadful as some people think, while I believe the back seat of an Echo is slightly roomier than a Yaris hatch.

Thanks for the input its much appreciated. I drive pretty conservatively so I am pretty confident it should be just fine.
