View Full Version : Top struts... Is this normal?

Is there suppose to be a gap between the body frame and the top struts? This is my second set of lowering springs. I took the Teins S-Tech after using it for 2 weeks and I just finished installing the Tanabe NF210 and noticed the gaps on both sides. I'm not sure if the Tein or even the stock springs had it before. Please note that I have the nut tight all the way with 6mm hex and 17mm box wrench.

Please advise.

Normal. Just curious though, why'd you switch from the Tein S to Tanabe?

Tein S-Tech:
Rear end was a bit rough on the freeway when going over dips. I feel bad for my 2yr old. Rear was lower than the front even without the bike/bike rack.

Tanabe NF210:
Rear end felt like stock and the drop was perfect except the front had 1/2" gap in the tire/fender and it was very obvious. I didn't like it at all.

S-Tech Front/NF210 Rear:
Rides just like the Tanabe NF210 but with a much better stance. Same gap tire/fender all around.

Found another Yaris. :w00t:

I like the combo better actually. Might look into it myself.

Thank you.

Yes, Miata 14x6 +45 with 20mm spacers front and 26mm spacers rear. I'm on a wrong tire size (185/60) but I got the set for $250 with brand new Potenzas. :)
