Hi guys,
Hope your all well.
I'm new and was hoping for some advice for me to fully utilise my car.
I have decided to keep my 2007 model 1.3 VVT-I Yaris for another 3-4 years as it only has 48k miles on the clock and the body work is well kept.
I am looking to improve it's bhp and performance.
Can anyone suggest what chip I should look out for to chip my car with. For improved bhp.
Can anyone suggest other upgrades to make to help the performance?
Have a great evening.
Many Thanks
Matt
chips don't do anything in n/a cars.
First question is what are you looking for and how much are you willing to spend?
second question is have you done any mods at all yet?
The biggest mod everyone has always loved is a rear sway bar. If you are not interested in coil overs it really should be the first thing you do.
The power adding route is probably typical if you do not want to go forced induction. pulleys/lighter flywheel/lighter wheels/intake/exhaust. There is no real one quick mod that really makes a massive difference besides stripping the car, but that is something that you need to want to do and something many simply cannot do for practical reasons.

Hey 'Why?',
First answer - mainly BHP and around £800-£1,000.
Second answer - The car has had no mods done so far, it is as it came out the factory.
Could you point me in the direction of this - Rear Sway Bar mod.
I cannot strip the car as i use it for getting to work, ect.
I have been looking for performance mods for a 1.3 VVT-I Yaris, however, it seems all tuning mods are targeted at the 1.5L/1.8L yaris.
Any tips or advice on starting to improve power/performance on this model of yaris would be great.
Many Thanks
Matt

Not sure about the 1.3, but bolt ons, 1zz tb and gasket matching my intake put my 1NZ-FE around 110whp. Bigger injectors and raising compression is always a decent option for n/a but requires a little more effort. My advice is to not do much other than bolt ons, unless you are ready to increase that budget substantially

What I have learned is that these cars' strong suit is weight and handling that's where you should put your money. the rest is kind of a crap shoot.
