Maint Req light

Maybe dumb question- is the 'Maint Req' light the same as the CEL?

I haven't had my Yaris for very long- its possible its been doing this since I got it...- but the 'maint req' light comes on and blinks for 30 seconds or so when I first start the car. Normal? I have a scan-guage, and its not picking up any codes...

It's telling you that you should change the oil.
You can reset it. The info is posted on here.
I'm not sure so double check this (senior memory). Ignition on, trip odo on A, press and hold
trip button, turn ignition off, wait 5 seconds, turn back on, release button. Should reset
and blinking should go away.
Unless your low on blinker fluid...
