View Full Version : Oil filter part number
Just wondering, if the filter with part number 90915-YZZD1 is the same than 90915-10003?

90915-10003 part number was replaced by 90915-YZZF2. 90915-YZZD1 is not even listed for the Yaris.
90915-10003 is the genuine Toyota oil filter by Denso equipped on the vehicle at the factory. It is made in Japan rather than the ZZ part number oil filters that are made in Thailand. Filter medium is fabric sponge instead of pleated paper, with a very heavy-duty bypass valve. It costs $120 for a box of 10 filters and I bought the last one in North America 2 years ago, but it might be restocked periodically on special order. I have heard that the Japanese-made genuine Toyota oil filters are rebranded as explosion-resistant TRD parts here, but cannot confirm that.
so, will it be a good idea/safe to buy these?

Looks legit. I get mine from a Toyota dealership, 3 for $12 plus tax.

i just went to toyota dealership and wanted to buy 90915-10003 but it says Made in China... I purchased 90915-YZZE1 instead as recommended by one of the mechanic there (this is thailand made).
Assume every part that doesn't come from the dealer or a reputable retailer is counterfeit. Also, if a part costs $10.00 from Toyota and is for sale on ebay for $2.50, that's the tip off.

Wow old thread.
I just went with whatever part was recommended by the parts department at the dealer. 13years and no issue.
