With a mild drop and resonably light weight 17" and 205s... how much MPGs did you lose? and can we assume a 17" setup weight about the same as 15" steelies with hubcaps and factory rubber.

No, I think it is going to be quite a bit heavier. I am not sure what that equates to in mileage but I am sure any weight gain would amount to some loss. If you really want 17's I wouldn't stress about that but I would be sure and get lightest wheels I liked. I think the stock wheels and tires are 33lbs. I think.

my 17's seem to weigh pretty damn neer the same as my aftermarket 15's, wich were much less than the stock steelies

what is the weight on those stock steelies?

I didn't know you got new wheels? I'm one to talk since I still haven't got pics of mine but let's see some pics? I guess you'll be lowering soon to?

The 20's lost me approx 2-3mpg, something in that order. Thats a 52lb worst case scenario... well, short of 150 spokes on runflats? owwwwwwww

The stock steelies were heavy as all hell. Anyone got any specifics?

is that based on recalibrated speedo? otherwise it could be more than 2-3 mpgs?

33 lbs i believe that includes the tire..on the 15 inch stock.

yeah i think 33lb is including tires. i'm still thinking to go with 17 but i think the steelie is so smooth. I will keep my steelie for awhile, i can't stand ride on a car that is so rough.

my 15 inch alloys weighed in at 36lbs with tire.....my new 17 inch set up with 205/45's tipped the scale at about 40lbs......lost maybe 1 or 2 mpg......

Actually, you have it backwards. A taller tire/wheel set-up means he is going faster and hence more miles than his speedo is recording. This makes his mileage appear lower than it actually is.

My 17's produced no difference in mileage. Ok, I'm lying; I have 205/40/17's which are slightly smaller than stock. Because of this my speedo is recording more miles than it should and hence makes my MPG appear higher. I guess my drop in mileage equals my speedo error making my MPG appear the same as it was with the stock steelies. Not much though, 3% of 35 MPG = a drop of 1.05 MPG. Seems right...:iono:
