yaris 08 sedan ac stuck on

the ac in my yaris 08 is stuck on, since winter is coming its not very practical.
i've try to unplug the little wire plug that enter the top front end of the ac and it shut down.
As I see it ( correct me if i am wrong ) this wire feed the ac clutch, so the problem doesnt seems to be machanical but electrical.
do this circuit have a relay on the ac clutch line , if yes where is it??

Correct. That wire is the power to actuate the clutch. The AC will always run if you have the position knob pointed to the windshield.

feel so stupid had the car since 4 years and never notice that the ac is always on when on defrost

Yeah they really should make that more obvious.

It's a feature in most modern cars (a feature I've disabled more than once because I'm cheap and frankly, it doesn't do enough to be worth losing the mileage and putting the wear on the compressor all winter). In fact, most of my driving has been without A/C defrosting in the winter (cars without A/C, cars with broken A/C, cars that had really easy to disable A/C).
