From Link2 and Toyota USA spec sheet download:

AVAILABLE EXTERIOR COLORS:

Barcelona Red with Black Sand Pearl Roof - NEW
Crushed Ice with Black Sand Pearl Roof - NEW
Super White
Classic Silver Metallic
Magnetic Gray Metallic
Black Sand Pearl
Absolutely Red
Blue Streak Metallic

Can't say that I am a fan of the two-tone exterior paint colors featured in Link1 of original post. Perhaps if it was just the roof and not all the way down to bottom of window lines, etc.

I like. Especially the red. A huge step for Toyota.

Well, at least I don't have to be depressed about Toyota offering up 'Brown Sugar Metallic' to the USA for 2016. That and (solid) white are my two favorite colors on the 2015/2016 Yaris SE. Lucky Canadians.

In relation to the above links, I still find it fascinating that the Yaris sold about 15x more units in Europe than the USA for 2015. I'm living in the wrong country/culture.

LOL, did they change the mirror switch after all these years?

I thought the SE had a different steering box....this indicates no. Fact or fiction?

Lucky Canadians.

 No kiddiing . I think they've been able to buy 5-speed manual 5-door hatches every year since 2007 as well.

I'm living in the wrong country/culture.

...The wrong country re cars people choose to drive....but (IMO) the right country re general tax policies and the price level where gas for vehicles settles (most European countries re both of these = when compared to the U.S..)

That is the same side-view mirror switch as the 2015. Is it different on the earlier models?

I believe it does? From replies to me on a long ago thread, it isn't just the tires and wheels on the SE that make for the bigger diameter for the turning circle (4.6 feet bigger for 2016....see that 2016 download) than the L/LE.

I don't think so. I think it has always been the same.

I cringe whenever I see that "base carpet" foot-rest to the left part on cockpit floor. Ughhh. :slice:

Is there something in the way it is adjusted/installed.....or other parts that are different....that would account for the turning circle difference? On that long ago thread I mentioned, IIRC, the reply that I got...that it isn't just the wheels and tires that contribute to the turning circle difference on the SE....came from CTScott.

That's the one I have in mine:

Apparently this one, with the folding mirror feature, has been around for a while, too. I just never encountered it:

I could imagine a rear sway bar, or lack thereof might have something to do with it.

I imagine that there is a "stop" installed to prevent tire/fender interference with 16" wheels. But i thought SEs had a different ratio slso.

Great links. Perhaps I missed it, but will all 2016 hatches in the U.S. have the black trim around the doors and windows?

Option. Extra money. Red or white with black roof.

Thanks! I may be in the market for a 2016, but I don't care for the black trim. The cheaper the better!

upgrading your 2012?

I really like the 2012, but after learning that the Yaris (starting with the 2017 model year) will essentially be a rebadged Mazda, I'm considering getting the 2016 Yaris.

Nice find!

While it's probably always been this way, it's interesting to see the L and LE models have a lower drag coefficient (just barely) as well a slightly wider tread width (which seems odd).

I also thought the SE had a faster steering ratio, by the way ...

In fact, in looking back at the 2012 Yaris press release, it specifically called out a different steering gear ratio. The 2015 release, however, lists the same.

Hmm ... if this is truly the case, then I'd probably be fine getting a 5-dr LE ... if I could get it with a manual trans. However, the only Yaris I can buy new in Oregon with a manual transmission is a three-door L. :(

Yeah, IIRC one dealer had one manual transmission SE during the 2014 model year, but over the 2015 model year....zero of the manual transmission SEs I've seen on cars.com and cargurus.com have been in Oregon.
