I found a Specifications Manual for a Toyota Yaris Sedan and it lists 5W-20 not 5W-30. Not sure what year it's for but wondering why it differs.

Toyota TSB EG018-06 issued on 2006.03.29 states that SAE 5W-20 engine oil has been retroactively approved for engines that previously specified SAE 5W-30 or other viscosities.
Their literature adjustment has been inconsistent; some regions retain their 5W-30 rating while others have been switched over.
This redaction comes on the heels of bending their fuel economy ratings in order to remain competitive.
More specifically against Honda's 0W-20 pumping engines of the time.

I've been running 5w-20 for about 30k miles

Nothing wrong with either. I think in hotter regions like AZ retain the 5w30.

5w-30 is probably better for engine life but 5w-20 is better for efficiency since the oil pump doesn't have to push as hard
