Timing chain kit

Hello,
I recently took my 2007 Yaris to a 120.000 km service check and the guy said I should think about changing the timing chain on my next service.

Unfortunately, I live in a country where even the basics are hard to find so I cannot find a genuine toyota kit. I can only find generic replacements. I don't want to mess around with such an important part of my car. My brother in law is going to Florida soon and he told me he could buy the parts for me.

The only issue is that I'm not sure about what parts I need. The dealership guy told me the timing chain kit contains 5 parts (rough translation):

1 chain
2 skates or timing chain guides left and right
1 chain tensioner
1 gear

Is this correct? How can I find out the correct part numbers?
My engine is the 2NZ-FE and according to toyodiy, with the VIN number it's a 09/2006 TOYOTA YARIS (NCP90L-AGMRK)

I've been looking in toyodiy.com but I'm not 100% sure I'm looking at the right parts.

Apparently, the complete kit (all five parts) part number is 13506-2NZ

The chain part number is supposed to be 13506-21030, but Im not sure about the other parts.

Could someone assist me in locating the correct part numbers?

Guy actually said "I think you should pay me some money for totally unnecessary work".

There should be no reason at a mere 120,000 kms that you would be looking at replacing the timing chain.

^this, save your money and keep your oil clean and your timing chain will last the lifetime of the car

Sounds like a rip-off. Unless there is something specifically wrong with the chain there should be no reason to replace it. These chains should last the life of the car. 120K is nothing.

to put it in perspective, my '02echo had 361,000km on it and when i re did the head gasket (for curiosity not due to failure) I inspected the chain and there was no visible damage or wear on any of the 5 parts, even the tensioner still operated fine. I reinstalled it and have had no excess noise or issues. That was 6,000km ago.

Yeah, I've been reading around and I see lots of similar comments. I might just wait till the next service check and take it to another shop and ask.

I go by the maint. schedule on stuff like that, if it aint on it, then I aint doing it.

I read this thread on Friday when it only had 6 posts. At that time, after reading the FIRST SENTENCE of the OP, I said to myself "yaris9876 and trini each have over 500,000 miles on their original timing chains, this OP does NOT need to replace his timing chain". I was going to type that as a reply. Then I read post #6 from the OP (after reading 2, 3, 4, and 5). It seemed to me (re post #6) that just how much of a waste replacing the timing chain would be completely went over the OP's head, so I didn't bother :tongue:.

Es totalmente innecesario. De todas maneras si insistes en cambiarlo, puedo conseguirte los repuestos aqui en Venezuela, yo trabajo vendiendo toyota. Pero con todo y eso no te recomiendo que cambies nada si todo está bien. Hay más probabilidad de que el mecánico dañe algo a que se dañe de fabrica....
