Rear passenger door problem

Hello. the issue is the rear passenger door will not open from the outside unless tugging swiftly and hard on the handle. door opens fine from inside the vehicle. I've messed around with both the door panel and the latch and the doesn't seem to function as smooth as the drive side passenger car door. any idea what can be done to fix this ?

Rather vague statement. Doesn't tell us what exactly you've done. Have you tried any form of lubrication on the moving parts?

ok guys. so this vehicle had damage at one point and the shop that repaired/painted the door failed to installed the forked latch on the inside of the door. its hard to explain, but we took the door panel off the other side and compared how both door functioned and my father saw what was off-track. I'm sorry I don't know the proper terminology. door is fixed and I'm super stoked about it.
