alternator will not charge

The alternator in my 07 Yaris is not charging the battery . When the car is running I only getting 11.5 volts on my mulitmeter . I have check all the fuses in the charging system and all 4 are good. I installed a new alternator same problem . I also rechecked all the fuses after I installed the new alternator there all good. Any suggestions on what the problem might be

Check the large fusible links on the positive battery terminal.

If you pop the red cover off you can see them through their little windows. You really have to look closely, as it can be hard to see them from the correct angle to verify they are not blown.

For the alternator one, measuring the voltage on the large wire that connects to the alternator (with the grey plastic cover over the nut). With the engine off you should see battery voltage on that wire. If you do not, then the fusible link between the battery and alternator is blown and the alternator's output will not feed to the battery with the engine running.

I also have checked all the fuses in the charging circuit ( 2 under the dash , fusible link, and the one under the hood in the fuse box) all good . I also installed a new alternator . My next step is to take my alternators to have them both checked. Could it be faulty computer system?

Is the small connector plugged in on the alternator? That one is required to enable the voltage regulator in the alternator.

Also, with that in mind, check the 7.5A ALT-S fuse in the under-hood fuse panel and also the GAUGE and MET fuses in the under-dash fuse panel, as they are all involved in the voltage regulation process.

ok had the alternator tested , it was good , the gray plug is plugged in. I not sure what to do next . what else could be wrong , so far it not the fuses or the alternator , and the there are no codes are showing up besides the speed sensor which I think is do to the low power.

Did you check the fuses I mentioned above.

yes all 4 fuses 10a gauge,7.5a met,7.5a alt-s ,120 alt

OK. I would verify the following:

On the small grey connector check the voltage on the white wire with the ignition off.

Check the voltage on the blue and green wires with the ignition on.

with engine running blue 9.83 v, green .36 v

Humor me and try replacing the 10A GAUGE fuse in the fuse panel that is under the bottom of the dash.

ok I replaced the 10A GAUGE fuse in the fuse panel that is under the bottom of the dash. and the alternator worked. however the power steering, power windows speedometer ,airbag light were all intermittent , after a few days the alternator stopped working as well as all other electrical equipment. I at a loss I going to take it to the dealer to have them work on it unless some one has any other ideas

Check that fuse again and see if the alternator made it blow again. If it did, then your new alternator may be faulty.
