Hello,

7 days ago, my car radio in my 2000 Yaris (a brilliant first car) stopped working. I traced the problem to a blown ACC 15A fuse. I replaced this with another 15A fuse and it worked. Now, today the radio went again, checked the fuse it was blown, used my last spared 15 A fuse and replaced it and turned the car on and saw it spark, and this fuse too was blown.

This leads me to believe that there is a short on the ACC circuit. Has anyone dealt with something similar or does anyone have any ideas on what I can do?

Thank you.

Update: Found that the cigarette lighter sits on the same ACC circuit

Correct on the lighter being on the same circuit. Do you have something plugged into it that is causing the issue? If not, do you have any aftermarket electrical modifications (keyless entry, remote start, lighting, etc.)?

Nothing plugged in, I can't remember if I accidentally pressed it, and no after market electrical modifications have been made.

The ACC fuse feeds the lighter, clock, instrument cluster, Multi display. radio and power mirrors. You can disconnect those one by one to see which is causing the fuse to blow.
