What a TRIP. It's basically a covered trike with a car seat and steering wheel. I wonder what the top speed is? Think it's freeway capable?
I wouldn't drive one lol.

Interesting, but not nearly as practical... or functional as our cars.

True but cheap to operate and exciting to drive.

Its electric and top speed is 37 mph.
The leaning design borrows from the Piaggio MP3 three wheel scooter. Motorcyclists know those bikes are formidable cornerers with outstanding unrivaled performance. This Toyota is the same thing.

Here's some more info on it.

Now, let's see:
Can it carry more than the Yaris? No, barely accomodates 2 people...
Can it go faster than a Yaris? No. 37mph top speed? I don't think so lol
Does it have better range than the Yaris? No. The 37 mile range is laughable since the Yaris can do more than that in a single gallon! Recharge time is also 3 hours...
Crash safety rating? Let's not go there...
My conclusion: The Yaris isn't going anywhere. lol
That being said, I think it's a pretty amazing and unique concept and I'd love to do a test drive it if it ever becomes available in North America. :w00t:
