Can anyone recommend a locksmith in the GTA that could fix my Yaris's hatchback trunk not opening?
It used to be stuck unlocked (which was fine), but now it won't open at all. I still can't lock/unlock it.

You can climb into the hatch area, pop off the small cover in the lower center of the hatch and simply flip the silver lever to open it. Once you do, you can pull off the cover to access the entire lock assembly and see what the issue is. Typically it just needs cleaning and lubrication.

What area of the GTA are you in. If you're east end you could come by and I could help you out if you can't get it open on your own.

Could you post a picture? I'm not sure what I'm looking for.

Thanks for the offer. I'm in the west end, but I can come to you tomorrow if you're free.

Check out my DIY in the link below, as it shows the details of how to remove the hatch cover, once you get it open. The latch that you need to release is the one shown at the top of page 4 and the small cover that you need to remove is not directly shown, but is at the center of the lower portion of the hatch.

I sprayed some, actually a lot, wd40 in the keyhole and it solved the problem. You have to let it sit for a day or two for it to work.

Sorry for the delayed response. I was able to open the trunk recently with no change on my part. :iono: Still won't lock, but that's another issue.
