It will give you a smaller overall diameter of the wheel. Therefore throw off your speedo. But it will work. Alot of guys change to that before they lower thier cars to make sure it does not rub.

Maybe a couple of MPH diff at top speed. No big deal.

 I have 205/50/15 on my wheels, not steelies. I think at 10,000 miles you -could- be as much as 300 miles off on your odo, that amounts to nothing to me as I like the look, the ride and the weight of my tires on the 15" wheels.

Running the 195/55/15 size will give you only a 1.2 percent difference in speedo readings than with the stock 185/60/15 tires. Pretty insignificant. I'm going to 195/55/15 tires within a week or two.

lol, i'm running on 185/55R15. about 3.2% too slow. and gives about .5in drop :)
i have no choice, gotta keep using these tires untill i have some money to buy new ones :( but they are ALMOST at the warning. so yeah..

car manufactures don't bother much about tire size and speedo accuracy. the base yaris run on 175/65R14 and i'm pretty sure the speedo was not adjusted for the different tire size (also abot 3.2% slow)

my friend had done the test with the stok 14" on the echo hatch. and the stock 15" on the echo sedan.
both (hatch and sedan) were driving at the same speed next to each other. to keep up with the sedan at 100kmh, the hatch had to drive at ~104kmh. besides, the tolerence set by the gov is 10%

I have reconsidered my original plan. I'm most likely going to 205/55/15 (Toyo Proxes 4) tires for the summer, and probably 185/60/15 Nokian Hakkepeliitta RSi snow tires for the winter.

Hey, can you post after a few weeks days of running those tires to let everyone know how they work and if there is any rubbing. I've been contemplating the 205/55 R15 setup for a while now and am going to look at tires tomorrow. I think that that is probably the best combination for the stock 15" wheels but that is only speculation at this point.
