wider Tires

I have 2015 Yaris 3 doors with following tire size P175/65R15. I would like to have wider tires installed, can I go with 195/65R/15 or what other size,thanks for any information.

195/60/15's fit nicely on stock wheels and suspension.

Keep in mind that the /65 in the tire size is the sidewall height as a ratio to the tire width. Increase the width of the tire and you need to downsize the sidewall ratio. A 195/65R15 will therefor be a taller tire than the 175/65R15 and would throw off the accuracy both your speedometer and odometer.

mine came as 185/65/15 stock...going for 195/50/15 a little bit wider but reduced side walls..

195/55-15 are very close to stock size. A bit shorter but as close as you can get to
my originals which were 185/60-15. I also had 175/65/14 steeles with winter boots and a set of 215/35-18 on TRD wheels (pictured to the left).

i have 195/60/15 on my 07 and it works well. something you might want to think about is the price as different sizes i noticed while shopping for new tires can be more expensive than others(ie the 195/55 was more than either 195/60 or 195/50).

not to mention that 175/65 r15 is already more than 3% bigger in diameter than the 175/65 r14 our cars were intended to have (either that or the r14s are 3% smaller :iono:)

in any case, they are right, the right upgrade for wider tires would then 195/55 r15. but 195/60 r15 is not bad, but is a larger tire, and ideally good for your highway mileage, but bad for your stop-and-go city mileage due to rotational inertia. (your car will be higher, but the fender gap will also be less.)
