Happened on the highway...

A car hit me from behind, driving about 110-130km per our and then i got pushed up in the back of the car in front of me...

The reason why is because there had been an accident further ahead and I was in line as the last one...(hope I explained that good enough..)

Pictures of my car:

My neck hurts and my left knee and leg...that's about it.

Everybody says i've been extremely lucky...

From the looks of your car I'd say they are right.

Sorry to hear about this.

The cuts are from the Jaws of Life. First responders cut the roof off for a safer extraction.

Wow you are lucky to be alive! Did the curtain shield airbags work?

Do you plan to pick up another Yaris, once your insurance claim(s) are settled appropriately? You should definitely be able to pick up some extra "pain and suffering" cash for your trouble at least. Sic a lawyer on the at-fault driver's insurance company.

If my 2015 SE was totaled for some reason, and I lived to tell the story, I would be back into a 2016 SE ASAP, before they go extinct with the arrival of the 2017 Mazda2-Yaris rebadge hatchback

Not that I remember...but the knee airbags worked.

And I think the curtains only work when you get hit from the side...correct me, if I am wrong.

The guy who hit me from behind has taken all the blame...and that's what I expected.

The pain and suffering is also being worked on...

I think I'm getting a bigger car now...not because I think the Yaris is a bad car, I just wan't to try something else.

Maybe like this Toyota Auris:

The Auris is a nice car. Shame that Toyota really screwed it up (aesthetically) for the American market when they finally brought it over here for the 2016 model year as the Scion/Toyota iM.

Definitely glad you're alright.

That car looks pretty mangled.

Love the Auris and completely agree with above.

Thanks,

and yes, the car has, naturally, been declared total...

But one thing I must say about the Yaris: It's a tough car!

I'm looking at a newer Yaris in silver right now, but nothing's been decided yet...

glad you're alright. and even gladder you're looking into getting a yaris again. and if you can live with a little higher fuel expenses again, then the auris is a good choice. that is if you also want a bigger car. (it feeeels huge already, and we don't even have the wagon)

good luck in your purchase! (and your insurance claim)

It is great news that you are OK. Looks like the Yaris was well-constructed enough to save you from major injury.

Thanks,

Yes, the Yaris is actually a strong car...given the force from the car that hit me, which was a big stationcar.

The must scary of it all is that I was awake all the time.

I hope no one of you guys are going to experience this (Or maybe you have?)

I certainly don't wan't to again, so the highway is a little off limits for me right know, or shall we say: I got a little scared.

I guess it's a psychological thing...

After I hit a deer with my Tacoma truck, I've never been the same on the highway particularly at night. My palms still sweat at night on the Interstate expecting to hit another deer. Good luck with your next car. A Yaris is bulletproof.

Ok. I see...then it's not only me.

I would like this "thing" to go away, but I don't think it will for some time.

But I don't have to use the highway to get to work, that's one good thing.

And thanks, I'm looking forward to get another car.
