Foam sticking up from under dash?

I'm hoping/guessing this isn't a big deal but does anyone know what this black foam is that is sticking up from under the dashboard at the edge of the windshield?

I want to say my '07 had that until they had to pull the dash for some work. Put things back more tidy, but let my VIN plate slide out of place lol.

I wouldn't think it's anything to worry about, just poor/quick assembly I'd guess. Have you tried giving it a push with something?

It's just there to keep the dash from touching the windshield. You can simply stuff it back in as others have said.

My 2019 hatch has the same problem. I don't know how long it's been there but I got the car new in February and noticed recently. I can push it back down no problem it just seems really odd.

No reason to be surprised. It is just a Yaris, the cheapest bug from the Toyota hive. I had an informal discussion with a representative of Toyota authorized dealership and he told me that Yaris cars are not supposed to get that much attention, because it is "just a Yaris". Of course nobody will tell you this when sober.... :)
