In the city where I live, there is high tendency of side mirrors and windscreen wipers being theft if the car is unattended for a long time. 'They' sometime steal the mirror and sometime the whole unit. Please provide some suggestions beside keeping the car in an attended parking. I am also curious to know if it is safer to keep the side mirror folded than keeping it open? :iono:

I don't know how they steal your mirror without access to the inside of the car, unless they break it off! I always leave my passenger mirror folded, unless the car is full of stuff. Less wind burble = better fuel economy.

Folded while driving? Not a good idea.

edit: how about lock nuts on wipers (i know, overkill).

Plate number etching, so they can't sell it. Another option is side mirror guard/moulding
