CD player will not store my settings?

Hi everyone on this forum nice to join in with you alll. So i have just connected my car stereo to my yaris and powers on and everything, but it won't save the settings like my own ones. Not sure what this is, so did a quick google search and a website came out car audio install systems (http://how-to-install-car-audio-systems.blogspot.co.uk/2016/03/how-to-fix-car-stereo-that-has-no.html) one and it mentions that you have to change around the wiring. Will this fix the problem, also which wires should i swap over cause i don't want to damage my radio?

Depending of the maker, I suppose that you have an aftermarket radio and not the Toyota OEM, there is a cable that provides constant +12V and mantains the clock,radio presets,equalizer and other settings.
Check behind your unit for the yellow cable:
