New member and first time poster here, hoping for some help.

For the second time last night, the feature that prevents locking while key is in the ignition failed to work and I was distracted and didn't grab my key from the ignition. I used to have a hide-away key magnet with an un-programmed transponder so it only opened the door, but it fell off somewhere awhile back and I didn't replace it.

So now I'm wanting to get a non-transponder key that is slim enough to keep in my wallet. Does anyone know where I can get a blank? If I can get a blank, I'm sure I can find a locksmith to cut it for me. I would consider cutting the head off a key, but then how would I grip it to turn?

It is a 2009.

I have a slim key for my 2008 that I keep in my wallet. I do that with all my vehicles, a habit I started when I bought a BMW in Germany back in 1995. It came with a "wallet key" and I found it has saved my hide on numerous occasions! Actually, the wallet I currently have has a place for two flat keys in it; one of the reasons I love it!

I am pretty sure I got the one for my Yaris at Walmart.

Cheers! M2

Thank you! Was able to get one at Wal-Mart. Not totally flat, but half as thick of a head as the transponder key.
