Hey all,
I've got a Toyota Yaris 2009 TR 1.33 Model Petrol. Engine amber light recently, so I had it checked at Toyota Vantage Birmingham UK. They checked it, and the code came back with; P2112 - Throttle Actuator Struck and closed. Carried out active test, advise replacement of throttle body.
They couldnt give me a quote on the price for parts....only said it would be pricey. They could quote me labor being £90/hr. I tried asking them how much it would all be, but they couldnt give me a price to replace the throttle body. I hope you guys can help me. Where could I find the body, I've checked online but I dont know if the throttle body I find is suitable for my car. I have a friend who owns a garage who could fit it in. Toyota ain't open weekend for service/part.

The throttle body for your car is 22030-47010. A used one from a wrecker or ebay would be far less expensive than a new one.

Thanks CTScott, I'll have a look around. You know roughly what price I would be looking at for a Used one. Any idea what price a new one would be?
Thank you

New it will be well over $1000 US. Used ones can be had for as little as $25.
Here's and example off ebay for $70 US:

Thanks CTScott, the only issuse is, finding someone that would fit it in for me. Doubt Toyota would do it for me if I brought a used part for them to fit in.

Any half decent mechanic could do the job. Always try to avoid blood sucking Toyota dealers.

thanks for the advice/
I got my Yaris in 2009 09reg. is it worth getting a recondition throttle body for £400 with lifetime warranty or just get £80 one. Thinking of driving it for another year or two max.

Get the cheaper one. It's very rare for these to fail in the first place.

I had a Passat once with sticky throttle problems - the acceleration was very lumpy and uneven. I took it to an independent garage where the owner was a VW/Audi master mechanic, and he just cleaned the inside of the throttle body with a solvent spray. The butterfly was sticking due to a sticky residue from some poor quality gas that had apparently been put in the car some time previously. The car ran fine after that.

^^^ very good point. Did you verify whether or not the dealer cleaned it? It very well may be worth the money to have an independent mechanic evaluate it for you for sure. Are you by chance also member of Yaris Club UK? If not it could be worth joining as there are a lot of guys there willing to help out.

I'm not sure what Toyota did, they did a diagnostic check/test. I'll join yaris club uk and see what they say. I've asked a friend to fix it for me, hes a mechanic =]

I had the same code:
http://www.yarisworld.com/forums/showthread.php?t=53844
Steps I did:
1 Cleaning the old throttle body (problem solved)
2 Reprogrammed the ECU
3 Replaced the TB with a new one (Ebay, 1yr old for 20 bucks)
