View Full Version : Yaris TS - Dyno Figures After Decat and Exhaust Upgrade
Hi All
I installed a 57mm exhaust system and removed my cats last November. Finally got a chance to put my car on the rollers.
3 Runs were done. My highest figures came on the second run :
90.2kw & 165nm.
My stock figures were 88.2kw & 158nm
That's a small gain but the car feels much quicker now. Other guys locally say there is a lot of power to gain by installing headers. Will be doing that soon, along with a piggyback chip and cold air induction.
Stay tuned..
I'll post the graph tomorrow.

When you say piggy back chip, what exactly are you referring to. I didn't think there were any proper real chips out there. Only fakey resistor things.

fake chips? you mean those plug in and get instant power thing..LOL [emoji23]
ecu brand doesnt really matter...its all about the software and programer who is programing the ecu..

Ah, so you had your Ecu reprogrammed? I didn't think they were able to do that either. I thought Toyota had theirs locked down. Or do you have a piggyback system? Stand alone?
Edit: I just saw it in your sig, I'll have to look into that.

piggy back..nothing special, timing advance..over riding ecu isnt a issue..from basic timing advance you will gain 10%+..you can push it more but i need to move up to stage 2..piston, cams etc..higher octance with 30% larger injector (1jz) and slight advance timing go BOOM~!! [emoji16]
standalone is expensive..i wouldnt consider them unless going turbo and program ecu one by one..probably take all day..dyno, street...dyno again

Piggy back chips are those that plug into your standard ecu. It's only worth it if your car has mods. Being a n/a car, you shouldn't expect big gains. The tuner will just tune your car to run with the mods. It will smoothen your power and torque delivery.
I have now sold the car and own an 06 Honda S2000.
