Hi all,

I sometimes get the ABS light come on my dash. I checked with diagnostic scanner and I get the following error codes:

C1241, C1249

As this is an intermittent issue that only occasionally shows up, could it be an issue with the battery or alternator ? I have already cleaned the contacts on the ABS ECU connectors.

I am reluctant to take the car to the dealer to have this checked. I had a battery health test done and I am told that my battery is OK but may need replacing soon as its now reading 275CCA and it is a 330CCA battery. I have no idea when the battery was last replaced, owned the car for 2.5 years now with the same battery, I suspect the battery is still the same from when it came from Japan which is about 3 years ago.

Try cleaning the battery posts and terminals.

Hi CTScott.

I bit the bullet and took the car to the dealer. just didnt have time to probe around. What they found was shocking.

So the guys who fixed my crash last time have screwed me over. Toyota advised me:

The front rails are bent.
Water pump leaking
Pulley bent
Engine moved to the right by 20mm
Wires have been cut.

Basically the body shop has f***ed up the car. They said that there are lot of other electrical problems now.

Gonna go back to those guys and rage
