Anyone have any experience with these? Are they any good?

Had an incident this weekend and need to replace my tails. Trying to decide on getting some OEMs from my body shop guy, or taking the opportunity to replace with something different. Those linked above say they are plug and play and have all the safety approvals, yadda yadda, but I'm wondering if anyone has any experience with them. I've searched the forum for tail lights, but a lot of the posts are dated with old/dead links and links to Micro Image, which as we all know is no longer around.

If not these, what would you recommend? I'm looking for easy install / plug and play.

Those would look good on your black Yaris. Seems like a pretty good aftermarket brand, from what I have read over the last few years.

I hope that nothing else was damaged in the incident that you mentioned. :frown:

Thanks. Just a couple scratches on the bumper I'll have buffed or squirted. Nothing major, thankfully.

Hoping someone can shed some additional light on quality, fitment and ease of install. Like you, I think they would look decent, but have no problem replacing with OE if there are any issues with these.

Had an email exchange with the vendor and they claimed it uses stock wiring harness and bulb. Straight plug and play, but since having posted this, I'm liking the look less and less. Called Toyota and they want over $160 for each OEM tail. I'd have to buy both because I think a new one next to a 9 yr old one would be obvious. Shitty situation.

I'm sure salvage yards should have the OEM ones for a fair price.
Do you need it right away?

That's a good suggestion; thanks.

Given my level of OCD for damage on my car, I'd like to get it as soon as possible. Thinking about browsing CraigsList for a used one too...

and there always eBay (http://www.ebay.com/sch/Toyota-Yaris-Tail-Lights/33716/bn_1497114/i.html), of course. (click on link - there's some for under $50)

Super find. Not that far from me, either. Thank you very much, will call them and get a price.

Hope you're looking for just the driver's side on that one. The passengers side looks cracked.

edit: nevermind, just read your WTB post.

I do have concerns about them not matching, or one being brighter than the other. Any thoughts on what the chances of that are?

Thanks. Had actually found that one too, called and got a price of $75. Thankfully, our forum friend, brushforhire, replied to my WTB post and we worked a much better deal on a clean drivers side lamp that he has and doesn't need. On it's way to me via UPS as we speak. Looking forward to swapping it out and then getting the minor scratches on the bumper taken care of.

Received and installed.

Okay to close.
