Hey folks, I fixing to replace my son's front brake pads. I have done it many times before but not on a Yaris. Any surprises like left hand threads, etc?
I bought some OE Napa pads with new clips.

Do I lube the end of the pad within the clips? Also, on youtube they had the allenhead type or 14mm bolts. He has the American import so I hope it is the 14 mm, right? Any other tips. lay it on me bro.

Thanks and best regards, Alan

Nothing is really different or unique about the Yaris front brakes over others you have worked on. Just do what you always did. And yes, there are no allen bolts on our assembly.

I did them today and it went quite well. Of course I lubed the caliper pins and they were in good shape anyway. Only small bit of rust on one pin which I knocked off easily. 14 mm socket and a 17mm wrench to hold the caliper pins. The Napa shoes came with shims and bracket hardware. 122,000 miles and yet there was still pad on the original brakes.
