View Full Version : Unused plug in rear hatch door 2012 yaris

I have taken the rear hatch cover off my 2012 yaris to fit a rear reversing camera and found a plug that isnt used it had 3 wires going in they are blue black and brown could this be the plug for the camera?

Well i bought a 12 volt tester the one that lights up and tested the 3 pins for power their was none . I then turned on ignition and put it in reverse and tested the first pin for pwer no power showed up but the doors locked. I then tested the second pin and the doors unlocked nothing happened when i tested the third pin......wierd??????..

Could someone please help me,it seems to me the plug is only active when ignition is on or if in reverse or both. Why doesnt it show power when i test it.?

I found the same plug when I was fitting a reversing camera on my 2012 Yaris.
Some versions of the yaris had a key lock fitted to the rear hatch, and I think this most likely connectedd to the lock to operate the central locking. When I tested the wires, it made no difference if the ignition was on or off. another thread here somewhere poimts out that the camera connector (if present) has four wires.
There isn't any handy wiring in the rear hatch for the camera, but there is a blank plate where a factory camera could be fitted. I installed an after market camera using the blank plate as a mount point.

Thanks for info kevinj gues i will have to pick up reversing wire somehow,, any clues for this?
