Wait, you're complaining about getting over seven years out of a battery?

I have a 2008 and am on my third one! :eek:

Southcentral Texas is brutal on them! :frown:

My bro and mo live in Houstont. I ll ask my bro how long the battery has gone in his 2001 Toyota SUV. OR RATHER HOW MANY BATS HAS HE HAD...

The battery was the Panasonic or FB (Furukawa) ?

the batteries last longer in north. I'm at 72 months in prius, the longest lasting 12V battery i ever had only because it's in the trunk. typically they last for 3-5 years in south if one is gentle on them (no deep discharge).

I have the OEM still in my 2009.........last 3 winters it's been put away in an unheated outdoor shelter with the battery left in it. I start it 3 times during the winter. I'm amazed how good these batteries are.

Don't know. It's gone now.

The OEM in my echo also went 7 plus years.

Batteries don't fare well out here in Sunstroke, Arizona. I will probably just make it part of my regular maintenance schedule to get a new OEM battery every 36 months, and save myself any potential headaches.

I replaced mine back in like January. Was 5 years old with 105,000~ on it. I was sensing it being ever so slightly weak. Put a checker on it and it had like 1/3rd the power. Yikes! Ordered a Delco unit and been fine so far.

I run Delcos when i have a choice

I was thinking of replacing mine last fall to save a potential winter no start/battery change in below freezing weather.

But the cheapskate won out! :biggrin:

SO now I can crow about 7 instead of 6 years!:thumbup:

I think i got around 7 years from my OEM one in my 06 Yaris. This is also after it was flattened on half a dozen occasions. If i hadn't been careless with it, i would probably still have it. The OEM one in my sisters Honda is 10 years old.

Spoke to my brother last night in Houston. His OEM in his Toyota SUV lasted 13 years!

Might want to find out if T sells the same thing the factory installs.

The original OEM battery in my 2000 Accord started dying in 2011, about 9 months after moving from Atlanta, GA to Sunstroke, AZ. The headlight/foglight bulbs in that car were still the original ones from the factory when I sold it in 2015. Amazing how some parts like that seem to go on forever, while some others die after a few years.

Toyota has 2 types of replacement batteries that meets their criteria (or just rebrand from another OEM), True-2 5 years warranty and TrueStart 7 years warranty.

I dont't think we can get the japanese made Panasonic or FB, locally I just can find Thailand made Panasonic batteries.

When my battery dies (in this tropical climate they suffer a lot) I think i will get an Optima, but getting the 35 size is hard.

i call BS on that. toyota panasonic made were good but not that good (in houston, LOL).

Honda batteries are the best I've seen. I had a 02 civic and the battery died in 2012. (like 275,000 miles) they also warranty for 100 months (pro-rate)
I will put one in my yaris soon....
