I recently picked up a running driving crashed 2009 manual yaris for $250 dollars. It has a rebuilt 5 speed manual transmission and a Exedy clutch. Just trying to get some info on swapping my auto 3rd gen to manual. Praying that its just a direct swap and I dont have to mess with the ECU. Im hoping someone with experience will chime in. Ive done about 5 or 6 manual swaps on civics and integras and 240sx but never on a newer car.

Not 3rd gen, but you'll get the gist...

Best of luck! Since you already have the manual 2009, if shoudn't be too difficult of a swap. I have no clue if there is a slot or blank for the clutch pedal, but otherwise, it should go relatively easy.

As long as you have the keys, immobilizer, and ECU, you can probably just swap them. I highly recommend getting a 2 day subscription to the toyota tech info (techinfo.toyota.com) site and downloading ALL of the manuals and wiring diagrams for both vehicles. You should also go to toyodiy.com and check part numbers for the M/T 3rd gen and see which parts--if any--can be swapped directly from the 2nd gen.
