This includes anodizing and shipping via airmail. Custom engraving is free, but please keep it simple. If you wanted a detailed Yaris engraved on your clamp or your avatar as examples, there may be a graphic design fee of $15. This is what I am charged to convert jpeg's etc. to CAD/CAM geometry. There are free softwares that do this, but I've never had any luck with downloading them. If any members of this board are good with illustrator or any softwares that can export dxf or dwg files and wish to help your fellow members out I think that would be awesome. If you send me a dxf or dwg the sky is the limit and it's absolutely free. I don't mind giving away the machine time for CNC engraving on every part as custom is cool and personal, it's the time spent drawing up usable geometry that hampers getting you all your parts.

Please note that you and only you can decide to mod your vehicle, and as such you must assume full responsibility when and if you choose to do so. As with many offroad and show use only products, no liability will be accepted by the seller or manufacturer of these billet battery clamps.

The part is sort of wavy. Stylized curves..:wink: The original clamps sat at a slight angle and looked a little goofy so I added that little touch.

I still want to know what happened to the clip for the hood rod.

There never was one in my designs... the tab shown is for attachment at the back. Chris helped me engineer these from a distance, as I have an Echo and it's different. I bought a Yaris stock clamp from my dealer, but the plastic bit wasn't included.

We also thought putting a groove in the part would take away from the clean look achieved in comparison to that stock steel... thingy.

Any suggestions?

When you finalize the order is cool. I render all the engravings in my software before cutting metal to make sure you are happy with the geometry, size, placement, etc.

Well,i just dont like the fact that I need to rig somthing up to keep the hood prop from rattling/bouncing up and down,alot of us have stiff suspesion,big problem with rattles if your not carefull,this should be in the design.

There is NO NEED to have a spot for the prop rod.

There is no "bouncing" or "rattling" caused by the prop sitting on top of the new billet hold down.

Like I already mentioned time and time before, with all the miles I drive, the hood prop has yet to even move from its lay down position.

IMO, notching or retro fitting the stock hold down portion to this new sexy hold down, would look like ass.:thumbdown:

Though, if you really must, I am guessing fitting some kid of rubber sleeve on the rod, in the place where it contacts the hold down, might help prevent it from vibrating or damaging the hold down in any way, just for peace of mind?

After the accident, the hood won't stay open on its own anymore, unless the car is facing uphill, and its a decent grade.

Ill just slice some heat shrink tubing,and use about 4 layers,doing a 180 on each layer so it stays better,not exposing the seams,then shirnk it,this should help for any possible rattles,still confused about why its not in the design,its practical,like this car,just a thought.

Painting the engraving will look wicked! I've heard suggestions of syringes to get the ink evenly in the grooves. Maybe worth a shot? :headbang:

Glad to see we added another guy or two! I made twelve total, just to eat up the aluminum I had. :)

I am going away to the FJcruiser summit for a couple weeks vacation, but I think we should be very close to shipping when I return. By then the anodizing should be complete on the spoken for clamps and all I will have to do is engrave your requests! I'd like to start collecting payments now if possible, before I give the go ahead on the anodizing, just because the colors are custom to each member and I may not be able to find them a home if for some reason you change your mind.

I am sorry for the slow moving buy... I believe when you install these guys you'll know it was worth the wait.

I don't send these with tracking, just airmail, and I can't control any border hold-ups. Airmail does come with a number for Canada Post /USPS to reference if it was to be assumed lost and a claim made though. I'm sure they can track it, we just can't.

I'm only one guy with one machine, so I do the best I can. Haven't let the FJ owners down and I'm not going to start letting anyone down. You'll get your clamp and it will be awesome

Forgot to post this a few days ago: this clamp does not fit my Optima battery for my FJ, but it may be a larger battery in the truck...?

Finally got all the programming done! I am sending emails tonight of all the renderings, except 2: yrsdrgn and cali yaris. I made some mistakes in the geometry for "Vitz"

Those two should be touched up for tomorrow guys. I am engraving them as soon as you get back to me with and "Okay" or "change this." Machine is already set, just need to load the individual program and press cycle start. Can have them all out by tomorrow. The ones that went previously were whooppee777 and an off forum sale inside Canada. They were blank... easy engraving there ;)

My Yarisworld sponsorship is about to expire, and I am not going to renew it this time around. These clamps, and potentially some new products will still be available through a US distributor very soon, but I will leave the details of that to them. :)

cdmyaris: You may need to order through the distributor, as I won't be able to make more before I finish stock for them.

I held on to Chris' clamp a few extra day because I had to look up his address in my files, so his was sent express to make up some time. Whoppeee got his this week so yours should show up any day :)

here's mine in the wrong color...................i don't like red >< i wanted blue to match with everything else that's blue in/around my car.

But the etching really came out nice.

No need to apologize. You had a lot to work on and many to send out so mistakes will be made from time to time. Props to you and the engraving though it looks really awesome :thumbsup:

which ever is ez for u... blue or black.. if the blue is made already then send the blue one.. the blue will match the pulleys and the interior theme anyway so ur call. and the last thing for the email situation after i sent the "im paying now" i never got a responce
