Does anyone have or know for a fact if rear hub spacers will work with the 2012-2014 Yaris SE rear disk brakes?
I previously installed hub spacers on my 2009 with drum brakes without any problems. I am asking about rear hub spacers only and not wheel spacers.
Thanks in advance

Hub spacers and wheel spacers are one and the same AFAIK. Disc brakes or drums will not affect your use of wheel or hub spacers as long as the spacer clears the hub (hub spacer bore not smaller than factory hub bore).

Thanks for the input on the spacers.... Since 98% of Yaris have rear drum brakes I really don't know if the rear suspension pieces after the brakes are the same or different. I recently found out about the Dynamic Damper being back there(so there is at least one difference), but that won't effect the Hub Spacer in any way.

No they are not. Hub spacers are bolted in place between the axle and the hub. Wheel spacers sit on either the disc or drum and are held in place by the wheel when it is bolted onto its studs.

hub spacers wont work since your caliper is bolted directly to the axle.

Well that certainly does suck since I have a new set of 10mm penguin garage hub spacers that won't fit. I will snoop around underneath my car when I get back home in September. If they don't fit then I guess I will be going with the eibach 12mm wheel spacers.
It's my fault for buying all this stuff but not being at home to make sure it fits before buying it. :bonk:

I have done so much reading and searching on this subject, and I know that you swapped out the rear beam and all the components on your Yaris. I still have hope after looking at these three pictures. It looks as if the spacer might fit between the hub bearing assembly and the "dust plate"...... I hope : )

But to enviri's point, the caliper is mounted to the axle so therefor you cannot change the position of the rotor relative to the caliper mounting point.

So looking at t this diagram of the rear brakes, drum and disk, you can put a spacer behind the drum, but not the disk?
I am going to give it a shot, but I do understand what you guys are saying. Maybe once I actually put my eyes on it then I can punch myself in the nuts... but looking at all these diagrams and pictures it just seems possible.

on the drum the whole braking system is moved forward. The hub and drum are pretty much one piece. if you want to theoretically move your whole system over you have to also have a 10mm spacer for your rear caliper mount, along with a longer bolt to be used with that 10mm washer/spacer. It CAN be done, but some safety might be compromised.
The fact that the rotor and caliper must stay together makes a wheel spacer a more viable option..

In that case.... I guess I will have to go with a 10-20mm rear wheel spacer. I am going to start searching but does anyone know what will make the front and rear even with each other and flush with the fender without rubbing(on stock 16"wheels and tires)?
Off the top of my head I am thinking something like 5 mm front and 15-20mm rear.... Or just a simple 12mm rear spacer might do.
Thanks for your help
