So had a faulty motor in the drivers door (unlock/lock with key but not with interior switch)
Couldn't get a replacement toyota one (bought a used one...same fault)
So bought a 5 wire actuator. Removed toyota plug, one problem 6 wires not 5
Wired in actuator as follows:
Actuator Wiring To Door Wiring
Blue -> Blue/Black (actuator push)
Green -> Blue/Orange (actuator pull)
Black -> White/Black (ground)
Brown -> Green/Black (unlock signal)
White -> Brown/Yellow (lock signal)
Which leaves me a Blue/Red wire on the door loom, which I cannot figure out what it does. Haynes shows it connecting to a switch with it above ground terminal in the drivers door switch and both connected to lock/unlock.
With the drivers door open, it all locks and unlocks as it should
With that door closed though, it will lock but not unlock
Put key in ignition and turn to on (ACC does nothing), it will then unlock
Checked both Toyota and Haynes wiring diagrams, should all be spot on.
Which leaves this Blue/Red, measuring voltage between it and ground shows between 1 and 2 volts. I grounded it and the car unlocked with the door shut, ha thinks I...sorted...
no...opened and closed door, tried grounding it again. nada..
But still will lock and unlock with either door open or door closed and ignition on.
Pushing lock button on door will activate door to lock, pushing unlock with door closed and ignition off yields nothing, as if the switch isn't getting power at all.....
I know I'm missing something here...This Red/Blue has something to do with, as if its allowing power to flow to lock but not unlock. What I don't get is why turning the ignition to on resolves the issue till the ignition is turned back off?
Can anyone shine some light on where I've done something wrong here? (Before I rip the toyota central lock wiring out and rewire to something saner?)
