- Synthetic oil
- Serpentine belt replaced
- Front pads
- Machined front discs
- e-Rego inspection
- Number plate globe
- Revalved spare tire
- Wheels rotated and balance
$617
They also quoted $320 to replace a failing rear wheel bearing
Reasonable?

Typical I guess. I assume a dealer did the work?
Always request to see the failed part when having something replaced. Or say "Show me why what you say is defective" before they do the work. Helps keep them honest.

Typical I guess.
I don't know about you bronsin, but personally I find it hard for a North American to comment on work being performed in Australia.
Wollongong must be an absolute paradise to live in!

It's always less if you can DIY no matter where you live.
Eh?

I just had to replace my drivers side rear wheel bearing today at 112,000 miles, which is a bit premature to me. Local garage wanted $470. I did it myself of course. I opted to go with the better "Timken" bearing vs. the original equipment "Aisin" bearing that failed. The Timken bearing was $150 since I have the anti skid capabilities. Cheaper brands could have been bought for $45...but I trust the Timken brand. It's about a two hour job...not so much due to difficult to do, but just difficult to pull, or break loose the old assembly.

What time/distance service was it? Some services are more involved and eexpensive than others. I just had the 48 month service done last! week. With air conditioning deodorise and disinfect plus a new filter, it cost $867.

Like I said it was at 112,000 miles. What you had done, a PM, is apples and oranges when comparing to what I had to do as an unscheduled repair.

Better to DIY or buy your own parts and have your trusted mechanic install it.
