E-Trailer Towing Lights - '16 Yaris L

I tow my john boat & sunfish sailboat with my '16 Yaris L Manual most weekends, and I'm tired of not having trailer lights (& I don't want a ticket!)

How does everyone feel about e-trailer's suggestion to wire straight to the battery?

Also, I am aware that towing w/ Yaris in the US voids the warranty...

I've used etrailer harnesses on a few vehicles with no issues. Some direct to battery and some not. If the kit requires direct to battery then it is needed. Not enough power drawn from the tail lights to operate those on the trailer.
