Bleeder valve fitting same size on brakes as clutch?

Hi all,

Prepping to bleed the clutch this weekend on a 2009 4DSD 5MT. Running to Home Depot to pick up clear tubing, and I forgot to check whether the bleeder valve fittings on the brakes are the same size as the bleeder valves on the clutch (I'm assuming they are).

Won't be able to get home prior to the trip...anyone know off the top of their heads?

HAve someone operate the clutch while you watch to see what moves. It should be pretty easy to see the clutch cylinder and attached bleeder bolt.

I do believe the tubing that fits the brake bleeders will also fit the clutch cylinder. Get two or three sizes a couple of feet long each. Its pretty cheap....

Thanks...I knew where the clutch valve was, and measured some non-clear tubing I had in the garage which fit it. Just wanted to know if the brake bleeder valves were the same, but I guess it doesn't hurt to get a couple of different diameters.

Used search function here and found some pretty complicated ways to bleed various parts of the low-pedal-shuddering-clutch.
I got a little more pedal freeplay doing this:
Drive right front wheel up a ramp to help move any air bubble in slave cylinder to location of bleeder (undoubtedly same as valves on wheel cylinders).
See uni-reservoir (brake and clutch) is quite full, and remove cap.
Suck some fluid w/ a Mityvac, and replace reservoir cap.

(Park the right way on the right hill would be even easier...noting you can't get much ramp under the front of a Yaris hatch.)

Hmm I put mine on ramps all the time to change the oil and inspect the underside.

Just shove the ramps under until the plastic moves!:eek:
