I rarely have a passenger never mind 2.

I have 2 DR HB and was thinking of removing.

Reason:

More space for whatever and also the weight loss.I have a new sub box aswell and think it would fit nicer in the back.Basically I think the bench and back rest are dead weight.

I was thinking of carpeting to finish off.

Has anyone here done or seen this done.

Basically just looking for some feedback...good or bad.

Thanks.

I've thought about it, but from what I've seen, our cars don't have a nice, flat, usable surface below the seat. I guess most cars probably don't as they don't intend for you to remove the seats lol.

I know some have used wood to create a more usable space once the seat is out, but that might add more weight than you removed with the seat. Because I haven't seen a setup with it out that I find attractive, I've opted to just ride around with it laying down flat all the time. Doing that, you can have the added wagon like room most of the time, but still have the option to put the seats back up and use them in those few and far between cases.

I will be using this deadener and this carpet.Carpet will be adhered to matting with 3M spray glue.(The stuff used for sub boxes)

I have a friend that builds custom kitchen cabinetry and will have him cut wood divider like in pic.It wont be as high as one in pic though.I will sparay and cover in poly mat.

This allows so much more space for whatever.

For me I will have room for my pelican cases with all my multirotor gear including my quads.

As you can see here the backrest is just in the way and does not sit flat.

Yep, I've seen all those threads. Not a fan. Best of luck with it, though. Hope it works for you.

Makes the trunk space totally flat now.
