Wheels:16x7/4x100mm offset 40
2007 2DR HB.
I was thinking 1.5 drop.
Roads are good in my parts.I kind of have an obsession of missing every bump, manhole cover etc for some reason already on stock.Mind you I have always done this with all of my cars.

1.5 inches in the rear is pretty standard. you can go a lot more if you want to. :)

Tein springs with kyb struts plus TRD swaybar 2 inch drop works perfectly on my Yaris.

Well I already have rims and tires in the dimensions that I mentioned earlier.
I can only afford springs.
Basic question would this work without being a problem?
1 3/4'' drop
P.S
I may be able to squeeze in the sway bar into my budget if it helps?

Well I would save ur money cos if ur car has high km its going to need struts and might as well save the labor costs and do it once right.

The struts are 2 1/2 years old.I have receipts and my mechanic said they are not original.
If struts having high kilometers on them being the deciding factor then I will go ahead and do the springs.
Thanks for reply back.

Go for it, takes about 2.5 hrs for the whole job to lower ur car than u will need alignment done to fix toe set.

I will let a shop do it for me.
I do have the tools besides the spring tensioner which I could rent but I dont have proper place to do the job.
I will ask my regular mechanis what he would charge.

Like Exiwolfman, I'm on the Tein S Tech springs, but I'm still on factory shocks/struts. Loving every second of it.

Well those are 1.5 and are almost double the cost of what I linked.$358.00 CAD.
Would 1.5 even make a visually noticable difference?
If the ones I linked are no good then I will probaly hold off putting the new rims on this summer.

you get what you pay for. Tein's are almost the best suspension components you can get for under $4000.
1.5 makes a huge difference in visual appearance.

One can find teins at a lower price and ya it's a noticeable difference between 1.5 and 2 inch drop.

So 1.5 drop with the wheels and tire sizes I posted/mentioned would look okay.(2 DR HB)
As long as it does not have too much gap then I may go 1.5 and go for the tein spring afterall. If a few things go as planned I can swing it in my budget.

Did you see the wheel and tirespecs I posted?

Okay.Going to find some tein 1.5 springs within Canada and order them up.
I will get the springs installed ASAP so once summer arrives I just have to put on the wheels then get an alignment.
Thanks for you're and everyone elses help.

1.9???? I thought it was supposed to be 1.5.
Why cant I get a proper answear.
I have spent days reading over many forums. Some say 1.5 not enough, others say 2'' too much.
I have a feeling I will be getting the improper spring height and wont be able to return after installation.

Fwiw 1.5" drop is more than noticeable. It made a huge difference in the appearance of my yaris.
Imo lower than that gives you the "wheels tucked in" look which I didn't want as it's not my thing and I wanted function over form. Also the car sits lower with a driver in it than what you'll see when you're standing beside it so take that into account.
The springs will also settle after a few months of driving and will sit slightly lower

I'll look for pics but I just put my winters on.
My summer rims are 15x6.5 and +35 offset running 185/60 r15
I have 10mm spacers in the rear. The fit is very flush with no rubbing even when hitting the bump stops on rough Hamilton roads.
Its the exact looks and function I wanted and couldn't be happier.

Been on a 2" drop since 2014 and on 16x7" 40 offset wheels. Tires 205/45R16.....
I could still lower .5" to 1" more.
Your 1.5" drop is very conservative. Go................Just Do It!!!

Cutting bumps stops does make a difference in how it works. You gone go lower so you want suspension travel not ride on the bump stops lol

Simple logic ur car will sit 1.5 inch lower so why would u use stock hight bump stops cut 1 inch off at least or every other bump u will hit them and restrict ur suspension travel...also good luck with swaybar links they are fun to remove, use heat if possible also remove wipers and all in that are 10 min job to get to the top shock mounts.

Some people are on coil overs and go way lower than the 2" you get with the Tein springs. On 16's with 40 mm offset, it's going to look excellent. 1.5 would look good too, but I think the Tein drop is perfect.
