Barber, doesn't your lowered stance give you issues in the snow?
39, I like your silver steelies. I didn't know you got snow in Portland! I'm headed up your way to see family for Christmas, so maybe I can get a snow pictures up there. I'm going to have to go over the Cascades on highway 20 at some point, and last year it looked like this:

Holy smokes. That reminds me of all the times my dad told me about digging his car out of the snow when he lived in Montreal for 9 years before moving to California.
Is that about as bad as it gets, or does it get worse?

Ah ! That's only a little snow, nothing big. When you don't see the car anymore that's when it starts to be regular snowfall. And it gets even better some years.

The main headlights aren't on, it's just the parking lights and side markers, both being incandescent bulbs and fairly low power and warm color. Plus a basic digital camera and the reflector of the headlight lens unit.

But it does look cool, good for you if it's legal on your roads.

Yup, the parking light (whatever color they'd be) will get faded by the main headlight bulb when the engine is running (with DRL relay) or when the stalk is turned all the way. What I was saying is when your main build burns out, the red parking light will become highly noticeable on a dark road.

Pink, green and yellow are all colours that aren't red. Red is solely used for rear of vehicles, as per common sense and also per most country and state laws. It's also very confusing for other drivers. That's my opinion.

I know in AZ you can have whatever color lights on your car you want, as long as headlights are white, turn signals in front: white or amber rear: red or amber
I know in CA you can not have any lights except red/amber R turn amber/white F turn and white headlights (same in CO)
it varies from state to state

What winter tires do you run to notice such a louder noise than regular tires ? My Gislaved Nordfrost aren't noisy even on dry pavement, I've did my 3 400km holidays roadtrip on them and it was all dry pavement mileage without noise discomfort.
In other news, the Yaris icecap that appeared yesterday is now 3/4 melted away !

At first there wasn't any snowbank.
On the first day God created the earth.
On the second day, God created the humankind.
On the third day, God designed the Yaris.
On the forth day, he made it snow like a bitch.
On the fifth day, God throw down a shovel.
On the sixth day, God laugh his ass off watching humans shovel it all.
On the seventh and last day, God was jealous of the humans having fun driving their Yaris in the snow and ended winter.
That's pretty much how every week of February goes around here :D

Did I mention I didn't even used a snowblower ? That snow bank in the street behind the blue Subaru was the result of my driveway+yard at ~6" deep average. Moved about 150 cubic feet in 2.5 hours. What's funny is we had twice as much over the weekend and they removed it yesterday, yet now it's like they didn't even cleaned the street haha.

Details on the seat/bench delete please.
I've made a thread which details what's going on underneath the flat deck and the entertainment upgrades involved
Power inverter & flat deck (looking for insight)
https://r.tapatalk.com/shareLink?share_fid=105393&share_tid=56956&url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww%2Eyarisworld%2Ecom%2Fforums%2 Fshowthread%2Ephp%3Ft%3D56956&share_type=t
Regarding the rear bench removal, I simply remove the 4 bolts (two holding the bench structure, two holding the lower frame where the bench just clips in). Then I unbolted the seat belts off the floor and thug the upper sections back into the sides (not mandatory, but I didn't need them to flap around, I'll fish them out when or if I ever undo the rear deck mod). I bolted back the lower frame and a piece of 3/4" plywood on top of it, then 2 block of woods with braces in the front and a old extruded aluminum track in the rear. Then I cut another 3/4" plywood to fit the shape that's widening after the rear wheel wells. The plywood goes from 44" wide to 52" and is 24" deep. I have about 6" to spare underneath the plywood, but installing sound proofing foam panel reduced that to less than 4". I really just used what I had laying around to make that deck and during rainy days when I had nothing to do. Someone else had a thread on a similar flat deck setup, except they went all out and welded a frame for the deck, etc.
I've loaded over 200lbs of cargo on the deck often and its solid. At first I had it popping open toward the front using hinged supports, but it wasn't that useful. Now it's only testing on the supports and held by a screw in both front studs, so it's quick to remove with a screwdriver if you ever need to (which I only did when working in the equipment underneath). I then slid several accessories underneath the deck to store them out of sight and out of the way. In the passenger side next to the inverter, I have a set of booster cables, a golf umbrella, a 12v professional tankless compressor, etc. My main goal was to get all the equipment tucked away and free up as much cargo space. I've slept a few times in the back too on roadtrips.

Oh, and with the plywood deck leaving just 2" space above the powered sub (8", 300W RMS), it creates a huge resonance cavity that shoots the low frequency of the sub straight toward the front seats and the sound is amazing in the car, you can get feel the vibrations troughs the seats and steering, but you don't have to turn it up much, aka you keep the party in the car and you don't bother the others outside like if you were to boast >1 000W of bass. I've had many people who are band members and specialize in audio mixing and they really love the sound quality you get in the front seat, particularly the bass response that is really smooth even when you crank it up hard. Before the deck setup was fully complete, my sub was sitting on the carpet where the spare battery is and it was hitting good in terms of shock wave, but you wouldn't get that smooth and deep sound flowing, it was hard to balance it to get that boom without loosing all of the mid and high from the other speakers.
Paired with a set of tweeters in the front, it's really smooth to the ears and immersive. I don't think you'd get that nice of a sound if you'd burry your sub speaker into the trunk, you'd rattle the sheet metal more than anything else.

Talking about my setup ?
If so, the blue one on passenger side is a Samlex Pure Sine 1 000W inverter, continuous duty. It as a built in fan and thermal sensor to protect the unit (Samlex maker high-end/commercial duty products, this particular unit came from a cellphone data tech work truck). I only use it for short periods of time, aka microwave my lunch once in a while. It has enough air flow around it for the fan to do its job (I'm an electrician).
The black one to the right is a SSL LoPro 8, 8" under seat powered subwoofer, with a heavy aluminum casing heatsink, very similar in design and shape to my inverter, but without a fan. It does have thermal sensor for the amplifier power part, although I don't think the subwoofer coil is protected since it's a entry-level product. Still it does have enough air around it (as mentioned before, at least 2" on top) and nothing around it just like pictured. It was getting hot for the first few days when new, but that was still when I had it sit on the carpet behind my seat, where my spare battery now is, and it was summer, so the air vent under my seat was blowing on it. After the first few days, it's been running cool ever since. I do check it periodically as well as my inverter for signs of heat (usually once a week and during/after extended use), because I am aware of how much heat these unit could generate and how well they need to dissipate it. Still, I don't need to run it hard to get a lot of bass, thanks to the way the deck is made. There's a lot more air under my deck and around the units than you could expect to get under a car seat where these units where designed for.
Sorry for your loss.

I had a smart one this morning.
https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170315/90de2d9a1bdee98893e39f93390f3bec.jpg
Guy parked right in front of my yard. I had to borrow another car to get to work.
https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20170315/85def0570d7fcc9950944ef5dee969fd.jpg
Then when I came home this afternoon, car was still there. Called the city, they wrote him a fine and the towing is on his way.
My neighbors helped with the snowblower and cleaning up the place.

Is that paint flaked off on the bumper?
Mine has some of that same look but lower down from snow plowing.

Mine has some of that same look but lower down from snow plowing.Nope, it's just a snow moustache. It's got some bug and rock damage, but it's otherwise fine.

Everything on it is stock, even the painted mirrors. They didn't give you painted mirrors in Canada?
Northeast Ohio today I love those meaty tires and flares. Your car looks so muscular.

Here is mine. That day i almost crashed her too.
I tried to make some drifts and when the streets are covered in snow that's actually pretty easy, but eventually i drifted and didn't see a small maybe 30cm area which wasn't covered in snow, just gripping tarmac.
I however had my steering wheel turned in the opposite directing for the drift, so i made a hard left turn, when my tires started to grip again. Also don't worry i did this in the middle of the night in an area where no other cars were, so it wasn't really dangerous for anyone but me :D

People were all staring at my car when I got back in the big city in the evening. I wonder why ?
