Sputtering when starting car

Hi YarisWorlders,

I've noticed that when I start my Yaris, sometimes it sputters for a few seconds before running normally. Does anyone know what this could mean? I bought my car in 2010 and it has around 64,000 miles.

My plugs were starting to give me issues at that mileage. That could be it. Yes they are suppost to be 100k plugs. But if the car idles a lot that's still wear and tear. My car used to sit in a lot of traffic

Also Toyotas...if you start them up cold only for a few moments and turn it off and start again, they will sputter due to fuel loading. (like say go out and start the car, but forgot you left your coffee inside the house)

My tercel, xB & Yaris did(does) it. It just needs a minute to clear out.
