Cigarette lighter in 2001 yaris

How do you remove the cigarette lighter from a 2001 model. I have taken the panel off but can't work out how to remove the actual lighter

A cigar lighter is stuck in the 12 volt accessory socket? and/or the socket is stuck in the panel? Or prior owner pulled out the popped out lighter, dropped his beer and missed the socket while melting the lighter into the panel?

You need to remove the metal part first before the rest of the socket comes out of the dash.
