Well, Phoenix practically a suburb of SoCal, so maybe I qualify. :wink: Just about everyone who lives here, moved here from the Midwest or SoCal.

If someone wants to put together a meet, I'm game. I've got lots of time until I find a real job again. Best to do it while the weather's nice... oh wait... :laugh:

And also, I swore I thought I saw you one day making a left onto Valley View going north from Crescent around Cypress a month ago. Black Yaris, lowered, and matte black wheels, fits the description really well. ;)

Ha, it really does fit the description, but a month ago I still had my black gloss wheels on and don't recall being in that area.

I moved to the 57/10 fwy area about 4 years ago, but my parents are still in my hometown of Anaheim. My better half's family is in Bellflower, so I'm in and around all those parts, but up until recently we've been driving the Honda full time just to be safer than sorry regarding the Takata airbag in my car.

I didn't know that about Super Autobacs! Haven't been by there in a long time. That post from 2015 was a reminder post - that meet happened back in '07 '08!

Weathers been pretty bipolar here. Yesterday it snowed in the morning, rained nonstop in the afternoon, and high winds when we were driving back to the hotel at night, scary stuff! Mazda3 was being blown left and right on the highway, can't imagine how the Yaris would've felt lol. Today the suns out with some clouds, no wind, and pretty damn beautiful.

Also, Romario (@rohvitz), who organized the Toyotafest caravan I joined, is a city over from me and up for getting a meet together. Maybe them south county boys, Tom and Jason, would be interested in a meet/photoshoot.

Cool, I never noticed that your signature was clickable. I liked seeing all the mods that people have done nicely listed out. The problem is that it gives me too many ideas!! :biggrin:

Once I get my Yaris all cleaned up, I'll take some pictures and setup an account. Any car photography tips? You're quite good at knowing how to capture interesting shots. I should have some nice locations on Oahu (although many pics will probably be in the driveway :).

Hey, thanks for the compliment :smile: I really enjoy taking/viewing pics. I'm a cell phone snapper. If you also plan to use your cell phone, I would first recommend that you make sure you phone's camera is set to HDR mode. Most mobile phone cameras are set to standard, or HDR Auto mode by default. You want it set to HDR. Next, make sure the flash is off. Even in lower light, HDR will take a nice shot; the flash will only hurt. You'll need flash for night shots, but I'd recommend a real camera for those. They'll never come out great, even with the best of phone cameras. Lastly, find the option for grid lines in your camera settings and turn them on (I use the 3x3 line setting). The grid lines will help you center/level your shots and help with even spacing when you frame the shot.

In terms of background, I have to believe your Oahu locations will be incredible, so no worries there. When taking the pics, center your car in the frame and try to have even space to the left, right, top and bottom --unless you want to capture more of the background to one side or another. In terms of angles, I usually avoid taking pics level with the car; I'll either take a knee and snap from below center, or I'll hold my phone above my head and take the shot from above looking down. Taking the picture from a 45 degree angle looking at the front or back always makes for a good car photo. I tend to stay away from direct front or back shots. Lastly, have a steady hand. HDR mode takes an average of 5 pictures and then puts them together for one hi-def image, so if you move, the end result will suffer (especially considering some phones take longer to take HDR pics than others). The more steady your hand, the better the picture will look. I often use the same technique I do at the shooting range - take a deep breath in and take the shot as you're exhaling. It will slow your heart rate and steady you.

I just learned about Bonelli State Park in San Dimas recently. There was an end of year Honda meet there. My brother in law is a big Honda guy, so he invited us. It's a killer place for a meet and/or photoshoot. There's a man made lake with a dead-end right up to it that would make for some insane pics. It was too busy for me to get a shot there that day, but I did get the shots below. Where are you located?

Rohvitz can't get the time off work, but he came back to the idea of circling the Yaris wagons and getting our meet and photo shoot on. My thought was we meet and chill for a few at Cafe 86, followed by a cruise to Bonelli State Park for a killer photo shoot.

I'm so down!

I've been a little under the weather lately, so I've been keeping it chill. I think I picked up a viral infection in my inner ear because I had some vertigo and since then, have just been feeling like I'm in a haze. Once I'm back up to 100%, we need to make it happen.
