Hi All

Looking for some guidance/help as my Yaris is sick....:iono::cry::confused:

I recently changed my clutch due to it being weak.

However now my car has issues when i'm driving and changing gears It randomly gets stuck in a gear so I have to turn the engine off and then depress the clutch to get out of the gear or it does not go into a gear unless the clutch is pressed a couple of times.

The mechanic advised it was a pressure issue so we got a clutch slave cylinder that is attached near the gearbox and changed but the issue is still there.

The gear box seems to be fine and works well when the engine is off and in testing.

If anyone has any thoughts would be greatly appreciated.

Maybe the shifter cables were pinched or damaged when the gearbox was removed or installed?

It seems that it does not dissengage properly. Possible causes are

1) defective new parts ( use Genuine parts ! they have warranty) Clutch disk/clutch cover and bearing+pilot bearing
2) proper bleeding of the clutch hydraulic system.
3) defective master clutch cylinder.
4)cracked mounting point of clutch pedal on firewall

I would pay once and forget at an authorised Toyota dealer or repairer. Their high prices save you at circumstances like this one,.
