alternator seems to be giving up the ghost on my echo....battery light came on this morning...goes off at highway speeds (rpms/load)
what is the amperage of the replacement alternator? im seeing 70 80 and 90amps...

The Denso OE alternator is 70A, if you're not running some crazy stereo system I don't really see the need to go beyond that. There is a issue with the alternators in the Yaris with corrosion forming on the voltage regulator terminals inside the regulator. Toyota issued a TSB advising replacing the alternator but you can take it apart and clean off the corrosion quite easily once you remove the alternator.

New and reman alternators are quite pricey so I'd suggest the repair method or a trip to a salvage yard.

90A was actually cheaper than 70 or 80 amp
bought a rebuilt model with a lifetime warranty for $120. installed it this afternoon..
need to take the car for a drive to charge it up
