Hey there, I'm posting on behalf of my father, who has a hard time with his English, he bought a first hand Toyota Yaris in 2010 and after going above roughly 100,000km he noticed that his car consumes too much oil, more than it ever did by a noticeable amount. He was wondering if there's anything he can do about that, what are the first things you need to check in a case like that, and should he find no visible leaks or damages, what should he do? thanks ahead!

Is it buring blue smoke? First thing to check is the pcv valve, if it's clogged it will cause your issue

Alright, I've told my father and he'll check it, there's no blue smoke or leaks. maybe the oil ring is done for? could that cause it?

My old 2000 Honda Accord started 'losing oil' between oil changes around the 90-100K mark, and it wasn't leaking out onto the ground, coming out of the exhaust in blue/black smoke, or anything like that. I started adding a container of Bar's Leaks Main Seal Repair to my oil after every oil change and never had another problem with any 'lost oil' for as long as I owned it (I sold the car @ around 200K miles).
