Seeing I am a nuisance here this will be last post.
Here is my dilema.
I need new tires yesterday but dont know if 205/50/R16 will be ok and not rub?
I currently have car lowered @ 1.5 front/rear with 205/45/R16.
Rim specs (American racing ) 16" x 7" 4x100.00 (offset 40)
Here are pics of large gap/s

205/50/R16 good to go!
Thanks but wasnt 100% sure.I will be buying and getting the Ziex ZE950 205/50/R16 installed tomorrow then.
I did come across this yaris with 205/50/R16 but did not know what the drop or offset was. https://imgur.com/ad3y3V0
P.S
Going with the Ziex ZE950 because of the price and overall reviews.I think its the best tire I can get for $110.00 a piece.
Thanks again for confirmation and much appreciated.

Perhaps not because this place is the only place I can get the straight dope on anything yaris with no BS.
I just have to learn to not ask so many questions and research more before hand.
P.S
Thanks for the compliment on my car...I love this car so much, best car I have ever had.Its kind of odd because I have had more expensive cars but not near as fun, good looking and unique after some simple mods.
Next is putting wiper vertical and swaybar. That should be about it.

I was considering the zeix but came across the Nitto Neo Gen,would this be a better quality?
The zeix I had in mind are all season but would only be used in the summer and the nitto says 3-season which may be better suited for my summer needs only.
The Nitto is only $17.00 more per tire.
Here is link to local shop that I have in mind and $128.00 is my max budget.
Canada here BTW...

I ran 2 sets of 205/50/16 Nitto Neo Gen tyres. Great handling rubber, but extremely noisy... and straight line tracking at highway speeds was virtually nonexistent; I had to fight to keep the car in lane. This is not the tread design I would recommend for the Yaris if it's a daily driver.

I may go back to my original choice then?
I read 40% wear @ 5000km on the nitto. So at this rate I would need new tires every summer as I can do 5000 km in a month.
Here is my original choice.Should last longer and dont really drive aggressive.

I will go in tomorrow and see what they want(Kumho).I found on american site for 79.00 usd so if i can get here for $110.00CAD or so then its a decision made. Thanks again.
I just want a tire that I can get from those 2 links I posted without going over 128.00 a tire.
I want longest tread life and best wet tire performance.
I dont really drive highway all that often but normal road that leads from my town to work which is about 60km but is smooth, wide paved shoulders and everyone does 90/100 km/hr.
I do quite a bit of intown/s driving aswell making house calls.
I dont want a super sticky performance tire because thats not my driving style.

Fwiw if you want wet grip then getting the longest lasting tire becomes a conflict. I am currently running yoko' avid ascend and they last crazy long (800 treadwear) stick well when warm and roads are dry, but put some rain in there and they become down right scary.
Just something to think about, don't put all your eggs in the treadwear basket or you'll have disappointing wet traction

Not too worried about speedo as I have a good feel as to what speed I
am going.I also go with the flow and drive slowly, safely, responsibly in town and school zones.I think it comes down to common sense and knowing what speed is appropriate for what environment and climate.Never had a speed ticket yet.
I may use a gps app to get an idea what my speedo is reading compared to real world.Should give me a good ball park.

Just got back from getting installed and we had real heavy rain on the wayback.
These were beautiful in the rain aswell as quiet.
They cornered quite well and has smoother ride over bumps.

Went out for a drive tonight and these are quite impressive tires.I think 50 is the sweet spot and am glad I run 205 R16 with wide tires.I like the heavier feeling of the steering yet very responsive.
This tire is being discontinued BTW.Not sure why ..maybe just in Canada?
Like I said earlier a couple of guys really liked the look of the car.
Another fella said why do up a yaris and I said its an extremly fun car to drive especially after lowering and putting on some decent/wheels/tires.
I have probaly seen 40/50?? or so yaris's in my area but have yet to see one modified period.
Hondas on the other hand are all over the place modified and arent even worth a second glance anymore....yaaaawn.
Another thing I notice is that every yaris I have seen, even 2007 models in these canadian winters have zero rust.1 hour north of Toronto here and lotsa salt and long winters.
The 2007/2008 hatch is my favourite yaris btw.
If I could afford it I would buy another and do it up for a purely summer only souped up version.
My only peeves are no intermittent rear wiper and it could of had indipendant rear susp, but that would have brought the cost up quite a bit(the rear susp part)
Oh..and a scirocco type yellow would have been a nice option.

Thanks!
This is the first car that I felt is worthy of personalizing(Besides my 80 Rx7).It is so fun of a car. With the rearseat delete, lowering, new dampers and nicer wheels/tires the yaris kind of reminds of my old Rex as in how it feels the road.My rex was red aswell btw.
I have driven my sisters 2013 Acura TL,my other sisters 2016 civic SI and a totally loaded fit.I enjoy and prefer my yaris much more.It may sound odd but there is just something about a yaris HB.
Like I said earlier a second hatch may be in the cards.
I cant believe how many Yaris's are in my area..totally stock and zero rust.
I feel like a kid again owning a yaris with the modifying/personalizing thing.
Coil overs are going through my thoughts...when I really enjoy something I tend to go overboard.
Still have to find a reasonably priced trd swaybar for sure!
Would be nice to snag a used one for sure.

I agree with Pinch about the fun factor of the Yaris. Especially compared to all the newer civics and what else. A lot of this I believe has to do with the fact that the Yaris is a light car 2300lbs give or take and many other cars are getting heavier and around 3000lbs.
Sure the engines are getting more powerful but the extra weight is offsetting that. Sure the straight line speed may be the same because of a better engine, but a heavier car will almost always degrade the handling compared to a light weight car.
I just wish the Yaris had independent rear suspension, then it'd be a winner for sure.
With a Yaris I can hammer on it and not really have to be worried about going to jail, vs only half throttling a big powerful engine because I can never open it up on the roads without getting arrested.
I'd recommend you save your cash and get a good set of lowering springs (i think you already have those) and some bilstein b8's. Lowering springs are going to cost you over $1k for a good set. If you need to raise and lower your height or you need to make adjustments for tracking the car then CO's are good. But for a better performing dd springs and performance shocks will handle just as well and for less cash and no adjustment.
You can get CO's for cheaper but they won't be better handling per say

It is as independent as ANY "independent rear suspension" geometry with an installed separate sway bar. The only functional difference is that you can't swap in and out bars with different torsional spring rates. (Obviously, a separate bar can be added for more rate.)
